First Public UFO Hearing in over 50 Years to Be Held by Congress Next Week

  So, what say you, HN? Of the multitude of UAP's that have been reported, some percentage (I don't know the number off-hand) have not been identified as having benign / prosaic origins. Of that chunk that have yet to be explained away, what do you think they are?

  Some obvious options would include:

  1. totally benign / prosaic things like planets, weather balloons, satellites, stars, airplanes, helicopters, etc. that simply weren't able to be identified because of lack of information, etc.

  2. Optical illusions

  3. Advanced technology deployed by another Earth based entity (private entity or State-level actor, possibly even including elements of our own government / military)

  4. Advanced technology deployed / controlled by extraterrestrial intelligence(s) aka "little green men from mars" or what-have-you

  5. Some kind of previously unknown natural phenomena

  My own guess is that if we had perfect knowledge, we'd find that the vast majority are category 1, with a small handful represented by categories 2 and 3. I consider it extremely unlikely - but not impossible - that some could fall into category 4.
