  There's probably a place for ridiculously protracted animated transitions between windows, like falling down the matrix telephone pipe. Or, overlays of "Hollywood OS" password cracked popovers.

  I could even argue they are useful and encourage a break from "false flow"

  Neko had its day. The x11 cockroach also. But lo-fi radioactive glitter as I type and language specific animations? That's.. god.. its got to be a major productivity suck. Hugely entertaining. Use sometimes. Rarely.
